Frontiers of American Statecraft is a monthly off-the-record dinner lecture and roundtable series designed for mid-to-senior level staff in Washington, D.C. to credential themselves and expand their network.   Our upcoming series, “Conflict, Foreign Policy, and Diplomacy,” will kick off with a retreat in late March. The program then includes six dinners, hosted monthly, featuring VIP speakers in the foreign policy and national security space.  Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with like-minded peers and forge connections with ideological lodestars working to implement a realist and restraint-oriented grand strategy that puts American interests first.  The program is overseen by three field experts on American Moment’s Frontiers Commitee:
  • William P. Ruger Ruger is the President of the American Institute for Economic Research and a Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Previously, he held senior roles at the Charles Koch Institute and Stand Together. Nominated by President Trump as U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan, he has been a leading voice for ending America’s involvement in the Afghanistan War.
  • Alexander Alden Alden is a nonresident senior fellow with the GeoStrategy Initiative at the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security and a senior counselor at Palantir Technologies. Alden previously served in senior roles at the Department of State, National Security Council, and Department of Defense.
  • Prof. Jonathan Askonas Askonas is an assistant professor of Politics at the Catholic University of America, focusing on the intersection of the republican tradition, technology, and national security. He is authoring two books: A Muse of Fire, exploring how wartime innovations fade after conflict, and The Shot in the Dark, a history of the U.S. Army Asymmetric Warfare Group.
Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with like-minded peers and forge connections with policy-specific mentors working to implement a realist and restraint-oriented grand strategy that puts American interests first.
