On Friday, American Moment announced a reimagined off-the-record dinner series designed for mid-to-senior level staff in Washington, D.C. Frontiers of American Statecraft offers an exclusive opportunity for professionals in Washington with 5+ years of experience looking to credential themselves, broaden their policy expertise, and expand their networks.

Program Overview

Kicking off with a retreat in late March, Frontiers will feature six monthly dinner lectures and roundtables under the banner of “Conflict, Foreign Policy, and Diplomacy.” VIP speakers—leaders in the foreign policy and national security community—will guide interactive discussions aimed at sharpening participants’ understanding of critical issues facing the nation and the world.

Frontiers is designed for individuals overseeing foreign affairs portfolios on Capitol Hill, serving in the State Department or Department of Defense, or aspiring to deepen their expertise in critical global policy areas.

The first program, Conflict, Foreign Policy, and Diplomacy, is chaired by three experts in the field, including:

• William P. Ruger – President of the American Institute for Economic Research and a Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Formerly held senior roles at the Charles Koch Institute and Stand Together; nominated by President Trump as U.S. Ambassador to Afghanistan.
• Alexander Alden – Nonresident senior fellow with the GeoStrategy Initiative at the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, senior counselor at Palantir Technologies, and former senior official at the Department of State, National Security Council, and Department of Defense.
• Prof. Jonathan Askonas – Assistant professor of Politics at the Catholic University of America, focusing on the intersection of technology, national security, and the republican tradition. Author of two forthcoming books on innovation and war.

American Moment is in the early planning phases to continue Frontiers for other policy portfolios, including trade and immigration.
